 The type of personal information I collect and how collect it

I directly collect your name and email address when you:

  • fill in a contact form

  • email me directly

  • sign up to my mailing list

I also receive personal information indirectly from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Squarespace, the hosting platform for my mailing list, tracks information about which emails you’ve opened and which links you’ve clicked within those emails.

  • Squarespace, the hosting platform for this website, as well as Google Analytics, collect website usage information using performance and analytics cookies on behalf of BLÁNID.

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. The information collected about you may include; your name, email address, address, phone number, IP address, location, company name, sex, age, your chosen internet browser and service provider, and device plus any information you supply voluntarily.

 

Why I have your data and what I use it for

I collect information about you so that I can better understand the BLÁNID audience and so that I can make sure I give each of my fans the right information in the most appropriate way.
Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • If you contact me via the contact form or email me directly, I will use your name and email address in order to reply to your query.

  • If you sign up to my mailing list at a gig or via my website, I’ll use your name and email address to contact you about upcoming gigs and my latest news.

The personal information I receive indirectly from Squarespace and Google Analytics are used in the following ways:

  • I use the information I collect about which emails you’ve opened and which links you’ve clicked on to make sure you get more information about the things you like and less information about the things you don’t.

  • I use your information collected from the website to make sure I’m giving you the best online experience of my website

BLÁNID may share some of this information with a third party in the following ways:

  • if it is specifically necessary in relation to running a concert or event

b)     I have a legitimate interest

I believe that I, acting as BLÁNID, have a legitimate interest in collecting names and email addresses to build my mailing list and using industry standard practices of click-through and open rates for these emails in order to grow my fan base and nurture that relationship. I believe I have a legitimate interest in collecting website usage information in order to make my website the best possible experience for visitors to the site and to help me grow my fan base.

 

How I store your personal information

Website information using cookies is securely stored by Squarespace and Google Analytics. Functional and required cookies (that are needed so the website functions) are kept by Squarespace for up to 3 years. Squarespace analytics and performance cookies are kept for 2 years. Google Analytics data are kept for 26 months.

Your personal information (name and email address) that I use for marketing purposes is securely stored by me through Squarespace and will be kept with me until you notify me otherwise.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights.

  • You have the right to withdraw your consent: the unsubscribe option will always be at the bottom of each email.

  • You have the right of access - to request a copy of the information that I hold about you.

  • You have the right to rectification - to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • You have the right to data portability - you have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
